While working with Perch, this was an interesting site we built to allow users to apply for the program. This was also an interesting project that expanded a bit of what I thought was possible with a WordPress site.

Parent and Employee Portals

Besides allowing users to find information on the program and apply for it, it also allowed parents to log in and find important notices about their child’s care. They could log in and find news updates, as well as photos and updates on their child’s activities throughout the day. For employees, they could also log in to see new alerts, and e-sign documents indicating they read them so that mangagement could verify it was happening. We also tied in some cookies and NGINX rules to allow for privacy when images were uploaded for parents, so they couldn’t just be viewed by anyone.

Outcome

This continues to be a useful tool for their program many years later, and it has aged rather well.
